Fall is our favorite time of year, not only because of the changing weather but because it means it is time for the Caledonia Balloon Rally and Wild Turkey Fest!! Come enjoy the beautiful Caledonia, MN community on Saturday, October 20th. The day will start with a hot air balloon launch at 7:30 am (weather permitting) at the Caledonia Middle/High School. The Red Baron Flyers will be offering airplane rides at the Caledonia Airport from 8 am until 3 pm (weather permitting). Come check out a fall craft and vendor fair from 10 am-2 pm at the City Auditorium. The Caledonia Library will be hosting a story walk at 10:30 am and 1 pm at Gazebo Park. The Gazebo Park will have lots of activities for kids and adults of all ages from 11 am- 2 pm. Food will be available to purchase at Gazebo park as well from 11 am-2 pm, come support the Caledonia Music Boosters. The Mayor will be making a special appearance at the Gazebo Park at 1:45 pm to christen our turkey. At 2 pm there will be a “Not My Hands Pie Eating Contest” with cash prizes. A Kite Fly (weather permitting) at the Middle/High School from 3 pm-4 pm before the afternoon hot air balloon launch at 4:30 pm (weather permitting). Crossing our fingers for great weather so we can all get out and enjoy our beautiful community together. The hope of this event is to build a stronger sense of community, bring people to the area, help promote our economic development, get the community moving and active, and engage families and people of all ages and abilities. People who feel a sense of belonging tend to lead happier and healthier lives. The Wild Turkey Fest Committee requests that we keep this event Tobacco Free.
